Mickey Mouse is a beloved and iconic animal cartoon character, created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks in 1928 at The Walt Disney Studios. As the official mascot of The Walt Disney Company, Mickey is an anthropomorphic mouse known for his signature red shorts, large yellow shoes, and white gloves. Over the years, he has become one of the most recognizable characters worldwide.

Mickey's first appearance was in a test screening short titled Plane Crazy, but he officially debuted in the groundbreaking sound cartoon Steamboat Willie in 1928. Mickey went on to star in over 130 films, including classics like The Band Concert (1935), Brave Little Tailor (1938), and Fantasia (1940). Though he mainly appeared in short films, Mickey occasionally appeared in feature-length films as well.

Mickey was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for ten of his cartoons, and Lend a Paw won the award in 1942. In 1978, Mickey made history by becoming the first cartoon character to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, cementing his place in pop culture history.
