Pinocchio

Pinocchio is a fictional character and the main character in the children’s novel *The Adventures of Pinocchio* (1883) by Italian author Carlo Collodi. He was carved by a woodcarver named Geppetto in a village near Lucca. Originally a wooden puppet, Pinocchio dreams of becoming a real boy. One of his defining traits is that he often tells lies, which famously causes his nose to grow.
