Huggy Wuggy was created by Playtime Co. to be a beloved toy for children, quickly becoming the company's most successful product. However, at some point before the events of the game, he was modified and had a corrupted human conscience transferred into him, transforming him into a monstrous figure. 

He first appears pretending to be a statue, tricking the protagonist. Once the player grabs a key and restores power in a room, Huggy Wuggy vanishes from his pedestal. Throughout the game, he stalks the player from vents and high places. When the player enters a dark area, he emerges from the shadows to chase them through the conveyor belt tunnels. If the player fails to reach the catwalk at the end, Huggy Wuggy grabs them and ends their game with a deadly bite.

If the player successfully reaches the catwalk, they must push a box to block Huggy Wuggy, causing both of them to fall. While the player survives, Huggy Wuggy plunges into the void and crashes into some pipes. It remains unclear whether he survives the fall or meets his end.
